Yesterday, 25th January 2024, history was made as the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) Council convened its Meeting No. 1 of the Council 2023/25 at The Architects Place, located at 2 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Not only does this mark the commencement of meetings under our tenure, but it also signifies the first-ever Council meeting conducted within this newly established commonwealth building of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
This milestone stands as a significant stride in our institute’s journey, underscoring our unwavering commitment to growth and progress. Enclosed, you will find photographs encapsulating the essence of our building tour before the Council Meeting; a testament to the architectural brilliance embodied by The Architects Place. We express our profound gratitude to God Almighty for guiding us to this remarkable achievement.
This is a landmark achievement for all Architects and the architecture family. From our humble beginnings in the exquisitely designed bungalow that used to be our office on the same site to the majestic 11-storey mixed-use building that is now the pride of NIA. Our admission continues to advocate for inclusivity, unity, progress, impactful advocacy and empowerment of all Architects as laid out in our UNITE agenda.
As we embark on this new chapter within the walls of our esteemed edifice, let us collectively strive for excellence, innovation and the continued advancement of our noble profession
